Neighbour’s grass
The Neighbour’s Grass
Acrylic on canvas board
25 × 25 cm (9.8 × 9.8 in)
A quiet suburban façade becomes an exercise in colour, geometry and perception. Soft pinks, deep violet shadows and a pale turquoise sky replace naturalistic tones, shifting the familiar into something subtly surreal.
The title plays with the well-known expression “the grass is always greener on the other side,” while the painting quietly challenges that assumption. Beneath the immaculate architecture and carefully sculpted landscape lies an atmosphere that feels both inviting and strangely detached.
Part of Patií’s ongoing exploration of modern residential architecture, the work transforms an ordinary house into a study of light, memory and the idealised image of domestic life.
